The MPLA and UNITA will be represented in the Constitutional Court (TC) with two judges each, of the 11 that make up this Court, in this V legislature and following the results of the general elections of 24 August.

Of the 11 judges that make up the Constitutional Court, four are appointed by the President of the Republic, including the presiding judge, four are elected by the National Assembly, two by the Superior Council of the Judiciary and one is selected by public curricular competition.
As established in article 243 of the Constitution of the Republic of Angola, the appointment of judges advisers must be made in order to avoid their simultaneous total renewal, under the terms to be established in the internal rules of the Court.
The main opposition party, UNITA, has so far been represented in the TC by a judge.
