At the inauguration ceremony, at the Presidential Palace, in Luanda, the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, asked the ministers to work more and communicate better.
“We need to work faster from the beginning (…) so that in the end we can say ‘mission accomplished’, we serve the Angolan people and nation well”, he said.
There are several reappointed ministers: João Ernesto dos Santos, as Minister of National Defence, Former Combatants and Veterans of the Fatherland, Eugénio Cesar Laborinho, Minister of the Interior, and Téte António, Minister of Foreign Affairs, remain in the same positions. Vera Daves de Sousa also continues at the head of the Ministry of Finance.
Dalva Ringote Allen, former Secretary of State for the Economy, was promoted to Minister of State and Social Affairs.
Mário Caetano João maintains the responsibility of Economy and Planning, as does Teresa Rodrigues Dias, who continues in Public Administration, Labor and Social Security, and António Assis, who remains with Agriculture and Forestry.
Maria do Rosário Sambo was also reappointed as Minister of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Luísa Grilo in Education, and Sílvia Lutucuta in Health.
Marcy Cláudio Lopes, until now in the Territory Administration, moves to Justice and Human Rights, being replaced in the previous position by Dionísio Manuel da Fonseca, who was deputy governor for the Political and Social sector in Luanda.
Victor Fernandes was reappointed as Minister of Industry and Commerce, Diamantino Pedro Azevedo, as Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Ricardo Viegas D”Ábreu, in Transport.
João Baptista Borges remains in Energia e Águas, and Felipe Zau in Culture and Tourism, no longer being responsible for the Environment, which becomes autonomous and is now supervised by Ana Paula de Carvalho, former governor of Luanda.
Carmen Neto dos Santos was appointed to Fisheries and Marine Resources, while biologist Carmen Neto dos Santos becomes Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources, whose authority was previously integrated into Agriculture.
Carlos Alberto Gregório dos Santos, ascends to Minister of Public Works, Urbanism and Housing, as does Mário Augusto da Silva Oliveira, in Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication.
Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto is responsible for Social Action, Family and Women’s Promotion, while Palmira Leitão Barbosa is responsible for Youth and Sports.
