This is just an ordinary general meeting for the analysis and approval of four reports and accounts of the “giant” Clube Desportivo 1.º de Agosto. Behind the scenes, the conclave is being interpreted as the meeting in which the chairman of the board of the general assembly, the board and the partners who have paid their dues in the last three months will be present, this weekly learned.
More than an ordinary general meeting for the rendering of accounts, some members assigned to the club consider this Saturday’s meeting the moment to, once and for all, “wash the dirty clothes” of the 1st of August, since the Things have not gone well since June 2021, when the red and blacks saw their monthly budget reduced from 800 million kwanzas to just 200 million, after an intervention by the Ministry of Finance, led by Vera Daves de Sousa.
In practical terms, today, “1.º de Agosto is almost in technical bankruptcy, due to the significant cut in the amount it received from the State”, lamented to this weekly the same source linked to the governing bodies of the military club, pointing out, , that for some time now, the expenses of the emblem titled by the Ministry of National Defense and Homeland Veterans (MINDENVP) have been above income, a situation that is preventing the club from being able to renew with athletes whose contracts are about to end.
